Position Description

Contribute to a variety of Civil Engineering projects with a focus on fieldwork and site support while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across TBTE’s diverse engineering divisions. Apply technical skills in field testing, construction inspection, site investigation, and data collection to support project delivery and ensure designs are constructible, accurate, and compliant with applicable standards.

Position Responsibilities

  • Perform soil, concrete, asphalt, and other material sampling and testing on-stie and in the laboratory.
  • Conduct on-site construction inspections and monitor civil works including roads, grading, drainage, utilities, and earthworks.
  • Collect and record field data, including survey and geotechnical information, for use in design and reporting.
  • Coordinate with engineers, designers, and contractors to ensure field activities align with project plans and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate field records, reports, and documentation in accordance with company quality and regulatory standards.
  • Support project teams in field testing, monitoring, and verification activities.
  • Promote and enforce health and safety practices on-site, ensuring compliance with OHSA and company safety policies.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate practical expertise in civil field services, material testing, and construction inspection, supported by a diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field. The role requires 1-5 years of relevant field experience, including material testing and construction inspection for roads, site development, or municipal infrastructure projects. Candidates should be proficient with field testing equipment and methods, and possess strong technical, organizational, and communication skills. Familiarity with construction standards, testing procedures, and regulatory requirements is essential, along with a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

This position is classified as full time / seasonal. Rate of pay will be commensurate with related experience and qualifications ($25.00 per hour +).
