Materials Engineering Technicians – Kenora

Position Description

Contribute to a variety of projects with a focus on field and laboratory testing and inspection while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across TBTE’s diverse engineering divisions. Apply technical skills in laboratory testing, field testing, site investigation, and data collection to support project delivery and ensure designs are constructible, accurate, and compliant with applicable standards.

Position Responsibilities

• Perform soil, concrete, asphalt, and other material sampling and testing on-stie and in the laboratory.
• Support project teams in on-site monitoring and verification activities.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, and contractors to ensure field activities align with project plans and specifications.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in accordance with company, quality and regulatory standards.
• Promote and enforce health and safety practices on-site, ensuring compliance with OHSA and company safety policies.

Qualifications

Practical expertise in civil field services, material testing, and construction inspection along with a diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related field are assets but are NOT required. TBT Engineering provides training and certification. Candidates should possess strong organizational and communication skills along with a commitment to learning and maintaining a safe work environment.

This position is classified as seasonal. Rate of pay will be commensurate with related experience and qualifications ($22.00+ per hour).
