On Thursday August 25, 2016 TBT Engineering Limited pledged its support to area Aboriginal youth by signing on to Champion this year’s Aboriginal Youth Leadership Program – aimed at mentoring young people in the region towards their career aspirations. The $5,000.00 funding by TBT Engineering will help lead the way for 20 Aboriginal youth to get leadership training in Northwestern Ontario.

TBT Engineering President, Rob Frenette, had the following comments on Thursday, “TBT Engineering believes in the Aboriginal Youth Leadership Program. Our company works in the north and recognizes the significance of mentoring and training our local young people. It is very important to recruit closer to home and to play our part in building capacity in the region for young people to succeed at all levels.”

Over the past year TBT Engineering has continued to expand its operations, hiring additional staff from within the local population and now has a full-time workforce which exceeds 180 employees. The company anticipates future growth and has identified that a skilled labour shortage would have an impact on our local economy, which is why they felt strongly about supporting this initiative.

If you know of other area businesses that would like to assist Leadership Thunder Bay with this year’s Aboriginal Youth Leadership Program, we ask that you direct them to:  http://www.leadershiptb.com/
