Wrapping Up The 2013 Holiday Season!

Wrapping Up The 2013 Holiday Season

With the dawn of a new year upon us, TBT Engineering takes a look back at the 2013 Holiday Season that was. More specifically, we look back at some of the great work that our employees were able to do for others less fortunate in their community

“Once again, our annual Christmas Hamper Drive for the Children’s Aid Society and our Kettle Drive for the Salvation Army where both huge successes.” said Doug Steele, Manager of TBT Engineering’s Environmental Department and Chair of the Employee Relations Committee (ERC).

Indeed, the ERC worked diligently during the month of December to collect over $1000 in money, food, gift cards, and gifts from employees to go towards a Christmas Hamper for the Children’s Aid Society. TBT Engineering later learned from a CAS volunteer that a grandmother-in-need received this particular hamper and was overjoyed at the timeliness and relevance of the items. “I understand she was extremely happy” smiled Tricia Blunden, a Design Technician with TBT Engineering and ERC lead.

TBT Engineering also continued its annual tradition of allowing interested employees to take paid time off to donate time to the Salvation Army via its annual Kettle Drive.

“This year’s response was absolutely fantastic and its getting better every year”, said Doug. “It spite of the bitter cold that we encounter in December, we had lots of employees donate time once again. Glenn Graham (TBT Engineering employee) actually looked like a traditional Santa; he was a hard act to follow for sure!”

Asked if all of the TBTE scheduled shift spots got filled for the Salvation Army, Doug grinned and added that support was so overwhelming, the ERC had to “literally put some employees on a waiting list for spots.”

All-in-all, it turned out to be another great Holiday Season at TBT Engineering. To all of our employees who helped out with the above mentioned campaigns – THANK YOU for taking the time to make the holidays better for those in need in our community!!
