It used to look like a ditch beside a walking trail in a Thunder Bay park, but now it’s being transformed into an improved spawning ground for brook trout.
The North Shore Steelhead Association is continuing its rehabilitation project on a creek located within Centennial Park with the help of TBT Engineering.
The second phase of the project is currently underway and CBC News went to George Creek to check out the progress.
The CBC spoke with Superior Morning host, Lisa Laco, about the work being done on this tiny tributary of the Current River.
Also on hand to speak in detail about the project were Frank Edgson (pictured on left) of the North Shore Steelhead Association and Glen Garach with TBT Engineering (right) who’s companies have been directly involved in developing the creek.
