Ontario Land Surveyor (OLS) / Canada Land Surveyor (CLS)

Join our team of experts and work in beautiful Northwestern Ontario with TBT Engineering’s Legal Surveys & Geomatics division.
The successful candidate will assist with and oversee on-going legal survey projects.

Full Description

The successful candidate will assist with on-going legal survey projects and be responsible for project activities including:

  • Completing and coordinating land surveys involving:
    • Retracement of original township boundaries and water boundaries
    • Preparation of reference and registered plans for severances, subdivisions, condominiums, mining claims, and Crown lands
    • Topographic and volumetric surveys utilizing all technologies, including drone data capture
  • Performing title searches, calculations and drafting
  • Working with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives
  • Supervising survey teams and overseeing projects

Demonstrated technical abilities in legal surveying, along with associated designation as an Ontario Land Surveyor are required.  Further designation as a Canada Land Surveyor or ability to obtain this designation are preferred.  The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of relevant survey procedures and drafting software (MicroSurvey).

Full Description

The successful candidate will work with TBTE’s Civil Engineering divisions on civil design projects and be responsible for items including:

  • Producing detailed drawings and calculations in accordance with established codes, standards, and specifications – Focus on highways, roadways, infrastructure, municipal design, and stormwater management using Civil 3D, InRoads and OpenRoads.
  • Applying technical principles towards various design and development tasks.
  • Working with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives.

Demonstrated technical abilities in civil engineering design and contract administration, along with associated qualifications and certifications are required. The ideal candidate will have 5-10+ years’ related experience and possess knowledge of relevant engineering codes and design software.

  • Overseeing total project management, engineering procurement and client relationship management.
  • Engaging with internal and external teams to develop complex engineering solutions.

Demonstrated technical abilities in mechanical engineering design and contract administration, along with associated qualifications and certifications are required. The ideal candidate will have 5-10+ years’ related experience and possess knowledge of relevant building codes and design software.

The successful candidate must hold a degree in Engineering (Mechanical) and be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).  The ideal candidate will have 5-10+ years’ related experience and possess knowledge of relevant building codes and engineering principles.

Geotechnical Driller

Join our team of experts, work with advanced technology and experience beautiful Northwestern Ontario with TBT Engineering’s Drilling division!

Reporting to the Manager, Drilling Services, the successful candidate will be involved in Geotechnical and Environmental drilling projects.

Full Description

Reporting to the Manager, Drilling Services, the successful candidate will be involved in Geotechnical and Environmental drilling projects throughout Northwestern Ontario.  Drilling services include solid stem augering, hollow stem augering, groundwater monitoring well installation and decommissioning, subsurface condition investigations, soil sampling, aggregate source investigations and construction site assessments.

Successful candidates will have experience operating drill rigs.  Experience with soil sampling or geotechnical investigations is an asset but is not required.  A valid Ontario class G driver’s license and a good driving record are required; an AZ license is an asset, but not required.   Candidates with experience working with or around heavy equipment and using tools / troubleshooting mechanical issues are preferred.

Overtime is provided for any time worked beyond 44 hours per week. Out-of-town work including shift rotations work will be required. Travel expenses and accommodations are paid for by the Company. Driller Helper

Join our team of experts and experience beautiful Northwestern Ontario with TBT Engineering’s Drilling division!

Reporting to the Manager of Drilling Services, the successful candidate will assist drillers with environmental and geotechnical drilling operations.

Full Description

Candidates with experience working with or around heavy equipment and using tools / troubleshooting mechanical issues are preferred. A valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license (or equivalent) and a good driving record are required.

Demonstrated technical abilities, together with a knowledge of relevant drilling procedures and equipment are definite assets, but no experience is required. The position is physically demanding and involves lifting and moving heavy material.

Traveling expenses and accommodations are paid for by the Company. Overtime is provided for any time worked beyond 44 hours per week. Opportunities for professional development and advancement within the company exist.

Rate of pay and employment classification will be commensurate with related experience and qualifications.
