It’s January in Northwestern Ontario and the weather outside is frightful…but the 2014 construction season for TBT Engineering is already shaping up to be delightful! Recently, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation awarded TBT Engineering a significant Construction Contract Administration (CCA) assignment for 2014 that will involve FIVE (5) unique, comprehensive structural rehabilitation and/or replacement construction contracts at 7 bridge sites across Northwestern Ontario.

“We are super excited about this opportunity”, smiled company President Rob Frenette recently.

“TBTE’s engineering services are among the highest rated of all Northwestern Ontario engineering firms providing services on MTO projects. I’m confident this will continue to be the case as we work closely with the Ontario Government to expand and improve highways and associated transportation infrastructure throughout Northern Ontario this year.”

Construction activities for these assignments will revolve largely around removal of current bridge infrastructure and subsequent replacement. New replacement structures will range in nature from precast concrete decks (on original girders) to precast, pre-stressed concrete box girders on steel H-piles or tube piles filled with concrete. In some cases, new modular bridges will be installed.

In all cases, TBT Engineering will provide industry leading project management services and complete contract administration, utilizing a unique blend of skills and experience relating to environmental, surveying, geotechnical, design, materials, and construction in the process.

This summer, be on the lookout for TBT Engineering in your community as we oversee structural rehabilitation and replacement at a bridge near you!
