Position Description

Contribute to and lead mechanical design projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across diverse engineering divisions in a dynamic and growth-oriented environment. Apply advanced technical knowledge in the design of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers while ensuring designs are accurate, constructible, and compliant with applicable standards, codes, and project requirements.

Position Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review mechanical design drawings, plans, and technical documentation for building systems, industrial processes, and equipment installations.
  • Conduct design calculations for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate design efforts with mechanical engineers, project managers, and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure project alignment and constructability.
  • Review and incorporate project requirements, client specifications, and regulatory codes into mechanical designs.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior designers, supporting their professional growth.
  • Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and coordination with clients, architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support proposal preparation, business development, and client engagement activities.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to applicable codes, standards, and company quality and safety systems.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in mechanical design, supported by a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology. The role requires 10+ years of relevant experience in mechanical design, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, or industrial systems. Candidates should be proficient with design and modeling software such as AutoCAD and Revit MEP, and possess strong technical, organizational, and communication skills. Proven experience mentoring junior designers and coordinating design work across multidisciplinary teams is essential.

This position is classified as full time. Rate of pay will be commensurate with related experience and qualifications ($32.47 per hour +).
